Lost your Toyota key? What to do
You do not need to tow the car to a dealer. Follow these steps and we will make you a new key.
Check for a spare
Look for a second key at home or with family. If you have one, a copy costs much less than replacing every key.
Note your model and year
Find the model (Axio, Fielder, Harrier, Prado…) and year on your logbook. Toyota keys change by model and year, so this tells us which key you need.
Call or WhatsApp us
Send the model, year and your location. We confirm the right key and the price before we start.
We make and program the key
We cut and program a new key at our branch or where your car is, and delete the lost key so it can no longer start the car. We check your ID and the car's logbook first.

Plain key, no buttons
An all-metal key is a basic key with no chip. If the key has a plastic head, it usually has a chip inside (a transponder key).
Key with buttons
A key with lock and unlock buttons is a remote key. Many Probox, Succeed, Vitz and Fielder remote keys have no chip, while older Harrier, Alphard, Prado and Land Cruiser remote keys do.
Rotary key, turn a knob
If you keep the key in your pocket and turn a knob to start, as on the Toyota Rush and Passo, you have a rotary smart key.
Push-button start (keyless)
If you press a start button, you have a keyless smart key. On saloons like the Allion, Premio, Axio, Camry, Crown and Mark X, a keyless key with a boot button costs a little more.

How much does a Toyota car key cost in Kenya?
At Carkey Masters a basic Toyota key with no chip is KSh 500, a transponder (chip) key starts from KSh 4,500, a remote key from KSh 5,000 and a smart key from KSh 6,000 (Prius, Aqua, and the Fielder, Vitz and Wish 2012–present). Allion, Premio and Axio smart keys (2007–2016) are KSh 7,000, or KSh 8,500 with a boot button. Send your model and year on WhatsApp for your exact price.
Can you make a Toyota key if I have lost all my keys?

How much is a Prado or Land Cruiser V8 key?

How long does it take to make a Toyota key?
Most Toyota keys are cut and programmed while you wait. If we need to order a less common key, we tell you the waiting time before you pay.
Do I need to bring my Toyota?
Yes, the new key has to be programmed to your car. You can bring it to our Kiambu Road or Westlands branch, or we come to your home or office in Nairobi.
Is an Axio key the same as a Premio or Allion key?
Yes, from 2007 to 2016 the Allion, Premio and Axio share one keyless key, with or without a boot button. The Fielder (2007–2011), RAV4 and Vanguard (2008–2016) share another, and the Fielder, Vitz and Wish (2012–present) share a third. Send us your model and year and we will confirm the right key.
