If your car is stolen, your insurer pays the claim minus an excess, the part you pay yourself. Most Kenyan comprehensive policies charge a far lower theft excess when a tracking device is fitted. One published policy charges 20% of the car’s value without an anti-theft device, but only 2.5% with a tracking device.

Yes, GPS car tracking is legal in Kenya as long as you own the vehicle or have the owner’s consent to install the device. It’s often used for personal security, fleet management, and theft recovery.
Car trackers at Carkey Masters start from KSh 8,500, installed with a 2-year warranty. Our VT05 costs KSh 8,500 (Basic) or KSh 9,000 (Plus, with a year of airtime). Teltonika models: FMP100 KSh 8,500, FMB003 OBD-II KSh 10,000 and FMB920 anti-jamming KSh 12,000 (add KSh 500 for a year of airtime). The portable VT03D costs KSh 15,000. Installation is free within 8 km of our Westlands and Kiambu Road branches; further away a transport charge applies.
In most cases, yes. Many Kenyan comprehensive motor policies charge a much lower theft excess when a tracking device is fitted, for example 2.5% of the car value instead of 20%. On a KSh 2,000,000 car that is KSh 50,000 instead of KSh 400,000. Rates differ between insurers, so check your policy schedule.
Yes. After installation we give you a tracker installation certificate with your vehicle and tracker details. Share it with your insurer or broker so your policy records that a tracking device is fitted.
No. We supply and set up the tracker SIM card for you. With the Basic option you load the airtime yourself; with Plus (or the +KSh 500 airtime option on Teltonika trackers) a full year of airtime is already loaded.
